About Emily

Emily Clement

I’ve always been a soul-searching, joy seeker. For most of my life I’ve heard, “Emily, you are so lucky. Good things happen to you all the time.” Though I have been blessed beyond measure, it’s not luck. It’s intention. There are people, situations, and opportunities I’ve attracted into my life because I named them and then set my intention. The same approach will work for you. You can have, do, be, give and create anything you desire. True story! That said, my most transformative moments are found in life’s disappointments. I’m confident there is no such thing as failure; it is all feedback. Though disappointment, loss and frustration stings and includes a range of uncomfortable feelings, there is always something to learn about yourself and the world around you. Life doesn’t happen to us- it happens through us.

While studying psychology and education at Wheaton College (Norton, MA), I went on a new adventure each summer. I worked in a health food store in Petersburg, Alaska, and then I was a camp counselor in Istanbul, Turkey, and finally a waitress on Cape Cod. Following graduation, with a teaching certificate in my back pocket, I taught English for a year in the Czech Republic. Wanting more adventure, I continued to teach and travel. I taught study skills to 5th-12th grade students in Blairstown, New Jersey; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Beirut, Lebanon, and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. I also tutored for a summer in Greece.

I returned to New Hampshire and taught, coached and dorm parented for three years at Cardigan Mountain School, an all-boys junior boarding school. After I earned my M. Ed in school counseling at Plymouth State, I explored a few career paths before reconnecting with my childhood church. For five years (2005- ‘09) I was the Director of Christian Education at the Congregational Church of Laconia, United Church of Christ. I organized and facilitated Sunday school, confirmation, youth groups, service trips, summer camp, and adult programing. My job title quickly became Spiritual Party Planner. The five years that followed (2009- ’14) I was a high school guidance counselor- college planning, scheduling, and plenty of adolescent joys and concerns.

Life coaching is an extension of my personality. Though I’ve always believed in positive psychology and human potential, life coaching became my business in 2014. Everyone deserves to be happy- to be comfortable and confident in their own skin while living a life they love. I’ve integrated my favorite elements from every professional position- teaching, counseling, speaking, meeting new people and affecting positive change. Each of my clients experiences beautiful shifts and changes in their lives; I was called to do this work.
